UCI - Interdisciplinary Science & Engineering Building

Designed to LEED Platinum standards, the 6-story design-build building features wet and dry laboratory and support spaces, research offices, classrooms, and administrative offices. Smart-grid technologies, transportation systems, energy storage, renewable energy technology, greenhouse-gas-reduction approaches, and zero-carbon mobility systems are among the research endeavors planned for this space. AJK installed power & lighting for this project.

Additionally, our low voltage crew was responsible for the installation of the telecommunications system (including design-build wireless network), Design-Build Public Safety DAS (ADRF system), Design-Build Cellular DAS (Cel-Fi system), and parts & smarts installation for the CCTV and Access Control systems. The project consisted of a Basement and 6 Levels which included one MDF and 6 IDF’s.
